Driving Directions to Smugglers' Notch Resort

Below are recommended directions to Smugglers' Notch Resort. We do suggest you bring along a road map covering the areas in which you will be traveling. We have also noted some "strategic stopping points" where you'll find restaurants, gas stations and restroom facilities.

Note: The historic Smugglers' Notch Pass, on Route 108 between Stowe and Jeffersonville, is closed in the Winter and closed year around to motor coaches, motor homes and commercial vehicles.

When using an online trip planner or an onboard navigational system, please use the following address for Smugglers' Notch Resort. Please note that many of these services will route you through Smugglers' Notch Pass in the Winter when the pass is closed to all traffic. Please use the directions below from points South for Winter travel.

From Boston to Smugglers' (approx. 4 hrs.)

  • Take I-93 N to Concord, NH. Pick up I-89 N through White River Jct. and Montpelier, to Waterbury, VT. Then follow directions below for Winter or Summer.
  • Strategic Stops: Concord, NH; West Lebanon, NH; White River Junction, VT; Waterbury, VT.

    Winter:

  • Take Exit 10 I-89 in Waterbury, VT. Follow Vermont Rte. 100N through Stowe to Morrisville.
  • In Morrisville, pick up Rte. 15W through Johnson to Jeffersonville.
  • In Jeffersonville, pick up Rte. 108S. The Resort is located about 5 miles from Jeffersonville on the left.
  • Strategic Stops: Waterbury, VT; Stowe, VT; Morrisville, VT; Jeffersonville, VT.

    Summer Only:

  • Take Exit 10 I-89 in Waterbury, VT. Follow Vermont Rte. 100N to Stowe.
  • In Stowe pick up Route 108N through Smugglers' Notch Pass, to The Resort located on the right side, about 4 miles from the top of the Pass.

    Traveling to and from Canada
    For U.S. & Canadian residents traveling across the Canadian border, you will need to bring along either a valid driver's license, birth certificate or passport. U.S. resident aliens will also need a Green Card. All other foreign country residents will need their valid passport with I94 document.
    If you are crossing the American/Canadian border and do not have your I94 document with you, you will need your valid passport and a visa. There will be a nominal fee to prepare the I94 documentation for you.
